Love for tango = love for life

How I got inspired by Argentine tango. This was in Italy 6 years ago, visiting Verona in the summer. In one evening during in una passegata in the historical centre I suddenly heard beautiful music and I discovered a small group of nicely dressed people dancing outdoors, in close embrace! Wow, I was so fascinated by this deep and rich music and their focus on the moment, some of them dancing with their eyes closed! This all looked very enchanting but at that time there I didn’t think further. I remembered this beautiful experience a year later when I was back in Estonia, thinking about what I could do in my free time and that I love dancing. I joined random tango lessons in Tallinn. I was surprised that tango is improvisation, how is that possible?! J

What I like about tango is that you can find a place to dance in every major city in every country and while I’m travelling abroad I always try to attend in local milongas. For me as a solo traveler this is an easy and nice way to socialize and meet new people. Attending milongas abroad has been a good opportunity to gain dance experience and definitely developed my tango. I can say that my dance enjoyment has grown with each milonga, as has my own dance during the last years, which is a big motivation to continue learning. I also have very good experience with some tango festivals & marathon in Poland, Turkey, Portugal, Prague and our nice Tallinn Tango Weekend, which all provided a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and great dancersJ

Another good aspect of tango is that tango is always with me or I always have tango J I go to dance in every period of my life, in good times and in difficult times and I put my soul into dance - when I’m happy I dance of joy, when I’m sad I dance of sadness etc.

From my learning process during the past 5 years I can say that it is important to find yourself a professional tango teacher who can unlock your potential and give you knowledge of correct tango technique that helps you to create your individual dancing style. I experienced good progress in my dance after starting taking weekly private classes with Yakut and Annika 2.5 years ago and attending their group classes 3 times a week this year. I understood how important it is to build a solid foundation of your dance with the right technique and understand how your body moves in tango. Their passion for tango and the lessons conducted in a good spirit are also very uplifting and inspiring.

I also want to share with you a beautiful thought that a tango dancer said and that has supported me on my tango journey and hope it will support you too: “whoever wants to dance will find a way.”

With warm hugs
